The life and adventures of Blubicon...

This is the Story of my life. WIth some gaps. Major and minor. I don't blog every day. I blog when the feelings hit me. I write about me, about my daughter, about books I read and love. I blog about whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like blogging. I love the act of putting "pen to paper" or rather of putting fingers to keys.

I lost 13 lbs

In one day. Seriously I thought the point of taking the flu shot was not to get the flu. about 10:30pm on the 26th I started getting sick. I went to bed and didnt' get up except to be ill till today around 10:30 am. I am so week. But overall I feel better and I am thankful that the flu didn't hit me on christmas. and it is over before the weekend. :)

    You do know, of course, that isn't a symptom of the flu. The flu involves only respiratory symptoms, so getting a flu shot wouldn't prevent you from getting a stomach bug.

    You are both wrong, that's what! It is a common misconception that the "flu" - the one that is vaccinated against - causes stomach upset. There is such a thing that is called the "stomach flu," but that is a misuse of the term "flu." There are even some websites that say "in rare cases, the flu can cause nausea," but that is generally a result of the medicines people take to alleviate the flu symptoms and not a result of the flu itself.

    Here is a list of symptoms of the flu:

    "When you have the flu, you usually experience headache, chills, and a dry cough, followed by body aches and fever. The fever usually subsides around the second or third day of the illness. By then you may start to notice more upper respiratory symptoms such as nasal congestion and sore throat."

    I forgot the why: why do I know this?

    one: because the court where I clerked handled all of the vaccine-injury cases from all over the country, so we had to be trained on what various vaccines were meant to do and cover;

    two: because I still do biotech/pharmaceutical licensing and some FDA work, so I know a lot about various medicines and know how to read the insert for Tamiflu, for example;

    three: because I have chronic upper respiratory problems and a doctor who patiently explains everything; and

    four: because I know everything.
